How it works

Resonance breathing is slow, even breathing without holds. This timer starts at 5.5 seconds in and 5.5 seconds out, and you can tune it between about 4.5 and 6.5 breaths per minute. It is not a clone of the fixed 5–5 coherent breathing page.

How to do it

  1. Pick a breaths-per-minute setting. Lower numbers are slower cycles.
  2. Inhale and exhale for the same length. There is no hold.
  3. Press Start and follow the expanding block.
  4. If the pace feels too slow or too fast, exit and change the setting.

Session duration

The default session is five minutes. Use shorter sessions while you find a comfortable pace, then lengthen once the rhythm feels steady.

When people use it

People often use a tunable slow rhythm when they want even breathing at a pace they choose, rather than a single fixed 5–5 pattern. Prefer no tuning UI? Open coherent breathing.
