Breathing for Sleep
Evening patterns with a longer default and a darker screen on the sleep timer. Still just a timer.
This set
Sleep on this site is a purpose hub, not the exercise itself. The exercise lives at the breathing timer for sleep: same 4-7-8 counts as the daytime page, a darker low-stim screen, and a ten-minute default. Standard 4-7-8 is the five-minute version of those counts. If the seven-second hold is too much lying down, relaxation breathing (4-2-6) or extended exhale keep a longer out-breath with less hold. This page does not stack extra articles in front of Start — pick one tool and open it.
Timers
How to choose
- Open sleep breathing for the darker ten-minute 4-7-8 timer.
- Use standard 4-7-8 if you want the same counts with a five-minute default.
- If the long hold is uncomfortable, switch to 4-2-6 or a 4-6 exhale.
- Stop and return to normal breathing if you feel dizzy or lightheaded.
When people use it
People often open an evening timer at the end of the day. These pages do not treat insomnia. For slower daytime patterns without the dark screen, see the calm hub.
FAQ
Is this a sleep app?
No. It is a short list of timers. The sleep exercise is a low-stim 4-7-8 page, not a sleep tracker or course.
How is the sleep timer different from 4-7-8?
Same inhale-hold-exhale counts. The sleep timer adds a darker presentation and a ten-minute default. Details are on the breathing timer for sleep.
Will this help me fall asleep?
This is an informational timer, not a treatment for insomnia. Stop if you feel uncomfortable.
